Rough Terrain Container Handler Supports Haiti Relief Efforts
Kalmar Rough Terrain Center extends its helping hand as its Rough Terrain Cargo Handler supports the recent Haiti relief efforts. U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and Airmen are working hard to find ways to improve the transportation of disaster relief supplies into Haiti and in many instances have to use a Rough Terrain Cargo Handler, also known as a RTCH.
All of those employed at the Kalmar RT Center in Cibolo, TX are proud to see their home-produced machines being put to a worthy cause in support of the Haiti relief efforts. "We believe in our RTCH's abilities and we strongly support this relief effort by providing the necessary technical support to keep the RTCH's fully operational and optimize their utilization", says the Kalmar RT Center's President and CEO, Bryan Stephens. The Kalmar RT Center has experienced a very successful year with the transition of its manufacturing operations from Lidhult, Sweden to Cibolo, Texas and has a contract with the U.S. Army to deliver several hundred of the Rough Terrain Cargo Handlers.
Just two years ago the Kalmar RT Center employed less than two dozen employees and now has over 160 employees working in Cibolo, TX. The Kalmar RT Center also employees numerous field service representatives who are forward deployed in support of the U.S. military's technical requirements in Southwest Asia.
Texans are known for "spinning a tall tale on a short notice" so it doesn't take long for one of the Center employees to tell you a favorite story about their first time they came upon the magnitude of a RTCH. They also beam with pride in knowing they are supporting the military's material handling requirements in Southwest Asia, and now can smile even bigger knowing they are helping the humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
